Masters of the Universe

Masters of the Universe (MotU) is a franchise of Mattel. It was first created for action figures, but was since promoted with several comics, animated TV series and films in the 80s. More recently, a new He-Man movie has been officially announced with that name that should come out in 2011 according to the latest word.

The main characters of the MotU stories are He-Man, a barbarian prince with mystical powers, and Skeletor, his arch-enemy, who also goes by the Evil Lord of Destruction. The setting is Castle Greyskull on the planet of Eternia. He-Man defends the castles secrets against Skeletor’s forces.

The original television series aired in 1983 and was named He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Several more series have since aired, most recently a 2002 remake of the original series. The remake aired for two seasons, until it was terminated due to poor ratings.

If they are going to make a live action movie they need to follow the classic series, but also have a little more explaination of things in the beginning like the 200x series started out. The ‘87 live action film was good to a point, but I felt it only somewhat followed the story line. They don’t need to make it cheesy like some of these cartoon live action films have gotten. They need to make it a little gritty but tasteful. We have the technology now to really make something of it if someone takes the time to care about what the fans want and do it by the story line and not what they think it should go by. I hope they do the He-Man movie and bring in She-ra for a sequel

I know this is a bit late now, but I think they should bring the cartoon back and start where it left off, this cartoon was probably one of the best things that MYP has ever made, I tried emailing them a couple of times but it always kept bouncing back.
I was also hoping that the series would at least continue in comic book format but then MVCreations also went bust……
If anyone at Mattel is reading this then please take note that He Man 200X still has a huge following (not just myself but I know LOTS of people who love it), if you had just run the cartoon at regular intervals instead of sporadic time slots then your ratings would have got even higher and the sales of your toys would have been better.
I know that I speak for lots of people who would love it if you continue where you left off and NOT do a reboot if you decide to start up again, that’s one of the worst things you can do is start afresh when you leave something open ended.
AGAIN, PLEASE BRING HE MAN 200X BACK WHERE YOU LEFT OFF!!

I don’t understand why everybody is so scared to make a Masters of the Universe Movie? If they stay true to the original or Origins version (2002) the movie should due well. So why all the back and forth discusions on how to make the movie happen? At 32 years of age I would love to see this movie made the right way,for I too have long awaited for this to be made possible. With today’s technologies in special effects they now can make a true He-man movie that we could not do back in the 1980’s or even 90’s. They should make the movie a PG-13 because, it should be a little more darker and gittier for an older audiance (28-37) years of age that would appreciate the movie the most. So movie maker’s out there I hope to see the Masters of the Universe Movie finally get it’s justice that it deserves, for you (have the Power!)

    Dear Sir / Madam

I am sending a message regarding the classic TV series He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe which ran for 130 episodes. I already have all 65 episodes of season 1 of He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe on DVD. I also have He-Man And She-Ra : A Christmas Special on DVD and a DVD which includes The Secret Of The Sword movie plus 5 of the best She-Ra, Princess Of Power episodes. Of course She-Ra is by the same makers and in the same style as He-Man. I would like to make a request for season 2 of He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe to come out on DVD in the UK (my home country) please. Myself and lots of my friends who remember He-Man are still waiting for all 65 of the remaining episodes to come out on DVD. This will be just what we all need. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

    Kind Regards

    Mr D P Hill

I’m sick of the storylines getting changed. Do it right!!!!!!

  8. jeremyjamesdewitt Says:

Do it right. Follow the actual story. The 2002 cartoon had a great story. Prince Adam, Cringer, Orko. Put ‘em all in!

here comes atempt no:2 of doing a live action movie
of the ever popular 80’s cartoon show after the mixed
reviews of the 87 live movie adaptation of the cartoon
show that in the movie had dolph lundgren and frank
langella and i hope that the 2nd try should stay true
to the cartoon with adding cringer and orko and keep
it in eternia this time and title the movie masters of
the universe 2:skeletor strikes back where he escapes
from his watery grave that he got dispatched in at the end
of the 1st movie and to exact revenge on he-man which
will be cool to see that happening and to carry on
where the movie left off from in 87 we shall see
    what happens.
